Notebook Extension Terms of Service

Effective date: August 2, 2026

These Terms govern use of Notebook Extension (the “Service”), provided by madhava (the “Developer”). By using the Service, the user agrees to these Terms.

1. Service

The Service is a browser extension that helps users send user-selected web URLs, links, YouTube videos, and local files to a selected NotebookLM notebook; view and rename notebooks; and request supported NotebookLM-generated outputs.

The Service is independently developed and is not made, endorsed, certified, sponsored, or provided by Google LLC or NotebookLM.

2. Eligibility and accounts

The user must have legal capacity to agree to these Terms and must use only Google accounts, NotebookLM notebooks, websites, and content that the user owns or is authorized to use. The user is responsible for maintaining the security of the user’s browser and Google account.

3. User content and responsibilities

The user retains responsibility for URLs, files, prompts, titles, and other content submitted through the Service. The user represents that the user has the rights and permissions required to upload, process, and use that content.

The user must comply with applicable law and the terms, usage limits, copyright rules, privacy obligations, and access restrictions of Google, NotebookLM, YouTube, and each source website.

4. Prohibited use

The user must not use the Service to:

  • violate law, privacy, intellectual-property rights, contractual restrictions, or third-party rights;
  • access, collect, upload, or share information without authorization;
  • bypass authentication, paywalls, technical controls, plan limits, or security measures;
  • send malware or harmful content;
  • impose unreasonable load on the Service, NotebookLM, YouTube, or source websites; or
  • automate abusive, deceptive, fraudulent, or disruptive activity.

5. Third-party services and technical dependency

The Service depends on browser features and third-party services, including NotebookLM and YouTube. It may interact with web interfaces that are not a public contractual API. Changes, limits, outages, account restrictions, or discontinuation by a third party may break, delay, or remove some or all features without notice.

Information sent to a third party is governed by that third party’s terms and privacy policy. The Developer does not control NotebookLM’s acceptance, processing, retention, output quality, or availability.

6. Preview status and paid plans

The current public-preview version is free and billing is not active. Planned prices and features shown on the Pricing page are proposals and do not create a right to future pricing or functionality.

Before paid plans launch, the final price, taxes, billing period, renewal, cancellation, refund terms, and included features will be presented before purchase. No charge will be made without a user-initiated purchase flow.

7. Changes, suspension, and termination

The Developer may modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue features for maintenance, security, legal compliance, third-party changes, abuse prevention, or operational reasons. Material changes will be communicated by reasonable means when required.

8. Disclaimer

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, the Developer disclaims warranties of uninterrupted operation, compatibility, accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, successful import, successful generation, or preservation of content.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages arising from use or inability to use the Service, third-party changes, failed imports, generated output, or loss of content. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains the Service’s information practices and forms part of these Terms.

11. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated to reflect legal, feature, payment, security, or operational changes. The effective date will be updated, and material changes will be announced by reasonable means when required.
