Getting Started

1. Install the Extension

After the Chrome Web Store listing becomes available, install Notebook Extension from that listing. During testing, an unpacked build should be installed only from a package supplied by the Developer.

2. Sign in to NotebookLM

Open Gemini Notebook in the same browser profile and sign in to the Google account whose notebooks you want to use. Notebook Extension has no separate Google sign-in form and never asks for your Google password.

3. Add the current page

  1. Open a public HTTP or HTTPS page.
  2. Open Notebook Extension.
  3. Open the destination selector. The Extension retrieves available notebooks when needed.
  4. Select an existing notebook or, when available, choose to create a new one.
  5. Select Add source and keep the popup open until the result is shown.

4. Use bulk import

Open Bulk import from the Extension tools page, choose a destination, and choose one source type:

  • URLs: paste one URL per line.
  • Browser tabs: select Collect to list eligible open tabs.
  • Page links: enter the page to inspect, then select Collect.
  • YouTube playlist: enter a public playlist URL, then select Collect.
  • Local files: select up to 10 files. Each file may be up to 200 MB.

Review the collected items before starting. Keep the tools page open to view the most detailed progress. Unsupported, private, or inaccessible sources may fail individually without stopping the remaining queue.

5. Permissions

Notebook Extension requests browser access only to perform its user-facing features. Access to an arbitrary website is requested only when the user asks to collect links from that site. See the Privacy Policy for the complete explanation.

Troubleshooting

If notebooks do not load, confirm that NotebookLM opens successfully in the same browser profile and try the selector again. For other issues, see Support.
