Notebook Extension Features
Notebook Extension sends user-selected sources to Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM). Every import starts from a user action.
Quick capture
- Add the current HTTP or HTTPS page to a selected notebook.
- Keep the original page open while the Extension performs the request.
- Use the optional YouTube page button or a browser shortcut.
Bulk import
- Paste multiple URLs.
- Collect HTTP and HTTPS URLs from open browser tabs.
- Collect links from a webpage selected by the user.
- Collect videos from a public YouTube playlist.
- Select and upload up to 10 local files at a time, up to 200 MB per file.
- Review per-item progress, successful items, and errors.
Supported file formats currently include PDF, plain text, Markdown, CSV, Word, PowerPoint, common audio and video formats, common image formats, and EPUB. Acceptance and processing ultimately depend on NotebookLM.
Notebook management
- View recently retrieved notebooks and their source counts.
- Open a notebook in NotebookLM.
- Rename a notebook after an explicit edit action.
- Start or restart supported Audio Overview and Slide generation jobs.
- Play available audio or download an available slide PDF when supported by NotebookLM.
Language and accessibility
The Extension interface supports English and Japanese. Generation-language choices refer to content requested from NotebookLM and may vary according to NotebookLM availability.
Important limitations
Notebook Extension is an unofficial, independent product. It depends on the user being signed in to Gemini Notebook in the same browser profile and on Google’s current web interfaces. Google may change those interfaces, supported files, limits, or generated outputs without notice.
